Salisbury Beach Center is located on the shoreline approximately 45 minutes north of Boston, 20 minutes east of the Merrimack Valley, and just south of the New Hampshire border.

By Car: The beach is easily accessible by car from Routes 1A, I-95 and I-495.

By Bus: Public transportation is provided free through the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority with bus service from Lawrence, Andover, Methuen, Haverhill, Amesbury, Newburyport and other surrounding communities.

By Commuter Rail: From Boston, visitors can take the the MBTA Newburyport Line train. Once in Newburyport, board the MVRTA bus from the station for a short ride to Salisbury Beach Center.

 

There are several paid parking lots and metered parking within one block of the beach. Locations are:

  • Town of Salisbury Hunt Memorial Parking Lot — 228 Beach Road, Salisbury, MA
  • Railroad Avenue Parking – 1 Railroad Avenue, Salisbury, MA
  • Broadway Parking — 13 Broadway, Salisbury, MA
  • Carefree Parking – 14 Central Avenue, Salisbury, MA
  • Metered Street Parking – Broadway, Central Avenue and Driftway, Salisbury, MA. 3 hour limited parking in summer.

Two new structures provide clean, modern facilities for beach goers and visitors. The Welcome Center and Comfort Station are located in the center of Salisbury Beach. Facilities offer information to visitors as well as family and handicap accessible restrooms. Rinse stations are also available. Hours vary by season.

Most of the Salisbury Beach Partnership’s free outdoor activities take place at Salisbury Beach Center which is located at the top of Broadway adjacent to the beach.

 

Lifeguards are present at Salisbury Beach Center daily in season from mid-June to Labor Day during the hours of 8AM-5PM. For your swimming safety, always pay attention to any warnings related to rip currents or rough ocean undertows, and stay near the water’s edge.

The beach is cleaned daily by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Trash in the numerous receptacles at Salisbury Beach Center is picked up multiple times daily by the Town of Salisbury Department of Public Works.

Please help keep our beach clean and welcoming! Use the trash barrels provided or carry out your trash. Do your part to keep litter off the beach.

 

During the summer season, dogs are not allowed on the beach from May 1 through September 15. Dogs are allowed on the beach on leash from September 16 through April 30.
